Blockchain thoughts

Today, I listened to Laura Shin's podcast "Unchained". The episode is titled "How To Explain Cryptocurrencies And Blockchains To The Average Person". I don't know what the "average person" will learn from this episode, but here's what I found a really interesting thought: Jamie Smith compares hacking a blockchain to having to break into every house in a city as opposed to breaking into just one house when hacking a "normal" database or piece of software.
